Apple and Apricot Jam Millefeuille

Here’s a recipe to continue enjoying one of the best parts of the meal: dessert.

That said, without forgetting our low histamine diet and without giving up the pleasures of a sweet and very, very tasty treat.

INGREDIENTS FOR THIS RECIPE

  • 4 Golden apples
  • 25 g of gluten-free oat flour
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon powder or carob cocoa (according to your diet)
  • 2 apricots
  • Organic / natural honey

Kitchen Utensils

It is recommended to have a rectangular baking dish.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. For the jam: Cut the 2 apricots in half, remove the pit, and chop them. Put them in a saucepan, add water to cover, and a dash of honey. Cook for 40 minutes over medium heat and remove from the heat.

  2. Preheat the oven to 180ºC with heat from above and below. Brush the mold with homemade apricot jam.

  3. In a bowl, mix the oat flour with cinnamon powder or carob cocoa. Peel and slice the apples into 1 mm thick slices using a mandoline. The thinner the slices, the more incredible the texture.

  4. Place and press the apple slices on the base of the mold, allowing them to rise slightly up the walls. Between each layer of apple, sprinkle the oat and cinnamon mixture.

  5. Bake at 180ºC for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and when it is lukewarm, unmold carefully. You can add a teaspoon of our jam next to each portion when serving on the plates.

BONUS

  • Use a silicone non-stick mold (that withstands high cooking temperatures) so that after baking it is easier to remove your millefeuille from the container.
  • Oats are a cereal that some producers guarantee is gluten-free, so check the label.

A timeless dessert that can be served cold or slightly warm, to enjoy the fruit and the sweetness alike.

This recipe is low in histamine (not exempt) and is for informational purposes only, so it should not be considered a nutritional prescription.
